“Mountain Mist” Blue Mountains NSW Australia

Landscape and Nature Photography from the Blue Mountains NSW Australia.

Perhaps one of my favourite places for Photography is the Blue Mountains in NSW Australia. I fell in love with the Blue Mountains when I was young, and have been a regular visitor for the past 45 years. It is an area full of Life and Beauty.

On my many frequent visits to the Mountains, I have met so many wonderful people. Indulged in the most delicious food, and sat on top of cliff tops, admiring the most amazing views. Stumbled around in the dark before the sun rose, and waited patiently for the sun to set.

Mist and low cloud frequently cover the mountains lending the landscape a magical feel especially in the early morning with the soft light reflecting the colours of sunrise in the fog which covers the valleys below. Sunset marks days end with bright vivid colours which casts a warm glow that lingers over the mountains and in the mind.

Waterfalls with their soft rushing sound, cascade down over colourful rocks, which contrast against the vivid blues and greens of the mountains in the daytime. This is a place I never tire of, for relaxation and photography.

The Blue Mountains is an ancient land and was first inhabited by the Aboriginal people, it is steeped in rich history and legends. Rumours and ghost stories abound. Many writers and artists live in the mountains, it is an artistic community. Thousands of visitors from countries all over the world visit the mountains at all times of the year, it is a very popular tourist attraction, more so now than ever before.

Some of my favourite places for Photography are at Katoomba, Wentworth Falls, Leura and Mount Wilson, as well as the iconic Jenolan Caves. Govetts Leap at Blackheath is a very popular Photography spot and perhaps one of my favourites.

The Scenic Railway at Katoomba is a must do for the visitor to the mountains, as well as the Three Sisters at Echo Point. There is so much history to the mountains, and so many things to do, as well as places to explore, that I cannot fit it all on this one page.

What I will say is, the Blue Mountains in NSW Australia is one of the most loved and cherished places in the world, by both visitors and residents alike.
