Jenolan Caves are located in the Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve in the Greater Blue Mountains in NSW Australia.
A world renowned tourist destination, Jenolan Caves is a wonderful place to stay for a while, or if you live close by, a nice day trip.
Jenolan caves Accommodation includes self contained rooms outside of Caves House, and rooms in Caves House. Dining includes The Dining Room inside of Caves House as well as inside and outside eating areas for the cafe. Parking is on levels with rather steep climbs, there are steps as well. You need to get here early in the day if you want your pick of parking spots as it gets very busy.
There are day and night tours of the caves, or perhaps a stroll or picnic along the river walk.
The Blue Lake is best seen in the early morning when the colour is more vivid, and if you are up early enough you might just catch the Platypus that lives in the lake. I have seen so many people who are so disappointed that they didn't catch the Platypus, so you really do need to get to the lake on Sunrise and then hang around for awhile and if you are lucky, you might just get to see him. There is a gift shop here and they sell delightful gold plated Platypus bookmarks of which I have one and they are not terribly expensive.
Apart from The Caves, Caves House and walks that surround the area,
there are also a few waterfalls along the River Walk that are good for Photography, and general sight seeing.
